Tony Brar, Reporter & Weekend Anchor

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Tony is the youngest child of two parents that have called Canada home since 1981. He attributes a great family foundation and support cast as the biggest reasons he is able to pursue his dreams.

Since he was a child, he has always been fascinated with the idea of being on television. In elementary school, he would rush home to watch weekly weather forecasts before playing street hockey for the rest of the night. While his childhood dream was to become a meteorologist, he also grew a fascination for sports in his teenage years.

After completing his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), he returned to the institution just eight months later, to make his television dream a reality.

While being enrolled in the Television Program, Tony worked four jobs in the industry, including being a Television Production Assistant for Sportsnet, NHL on NBC and CFL on TSN broadcasts. He was also the Colour Commentator, Reporter and Host for the NAIT Ooks Men's and Women's Hockey teams.

Tony also plays ball hockey at the World Level, competing in the World Championships, which is held every two years. In his spare time (aside from playing and watching hockey), Tony enjoys jamming out to music, playing board games and re-watching The Longest Yard. Over and over again.

You can catch Tony’s reports during the week on the TBT News Hour and anchoring our weekend news.
