Despite rumours that he appeared at birth in a radio studio, fully grown with a microphone in his hand, Bryan Wyatt was, in fact, born at the Canadian Forces base in Shilo, Manitoba. After graduating from Radio and Television Arts, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton in 1977, he worked two years out west before trekking to Thunder Bay.
Although a reporter to the core, Bryan has also added News and Sports Director to his title while working in both radio and television over the last 30 years. He has won various Press Club awards for Hard News reporting, Natural Resources reporting, Investigative Television reporting, and Radio Sports reporting. But one of his greatest memories on the job occurred in September of 1980 when he covered the end the of the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope.
An active member of the community, Bryan has served as chair for the asthma appeal for the Lung Association and as past chair of the Northwestern Ontario branch of the Air Cadet League of Canada.
But sports is his first love. Ask him about his favourite team and you’ll get a list: Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Eskimos, Chicago Bears, Detroit Tigers, Edmonton Oilers.
Bryan will keep you up to date on the latest sports news weeknights on Time Out.
